My Running Days are Over !

Not updated on here for a while due to being busy, going to Boston (USA) for 2 weeks then went to Prague – will post about all those soon :-)

Anyway – did you see my videos and posts below about my 10k run – and the training I was doing? I started from ZERO running experience to finishing a 6 week running programme and ran 5k in 40 minutes – so was well chuffed with myself. I had a few weeks left till the run – 19th June – BUT I got a real bad pain in my left ankle and it was VERY swollen so I had to visit the doctor a few days before going off to Boston.

I had to go for an X-Ray and was told there was nothing that needed urgent treatment and full results would be sent to my doctors. I went back after my holiday to be told I have Osteoarthritis in my left ankle that has got worse over the last few months (since I broke it!) and that running is OUT of the question due to the impact on the joint :-(

OH NO…..my running days may be over before they really started!!

Never Mind – I just need to find something with less impact that will still strenghten my bones as I also have Osteopenia – the condition you get BEFORE Osteoporosis  (if its not treated I may be able to prevent osteoporosis developing but need to keep up some form of exercise. Will report back on that soon too

My 30 Minute Run!

OK – I have reached the end of week 5 of my running programme and today I need to run a full 30 minutes without stopping!!! When I started this programme I was a complete running novice and found it hard to run the 2 minutes during the second week – I was huffing and puffing like anything! I have stuck to the programme (well I had one hiccup earlier in the programme) but it goes to show that if you stick at something and believe you can do it – then  you CAN. 12 Week Update

Hi All – sorry for not giving feedback for a while but I have been MEGA busy. The photo here is a professional one I had done recently and I LOVE it :-) I wouldnt have thought 12 weeks ago when I began this alkalising journey that I could look so great. OK – over the past 12 weeks there have been some "ups and downs" but that is to be expected as this was something completely new to me and as with any new habit forming routines there are bound to be some "hiccups" I haven't been perfect – but thats why this has been so fantastic as I still lost over a stone in the 12 weeks and as you can see from some other pics below and the video I have lost INCHES too! How brilliant is that? I am not at my ideal weight yet. I have almost 3 stone to lose still but I know I will do it. I intend to update here every 2 weeks or so and my next goal is for 14th May when I travel to Boston, USA for my cousins wedding on 4th June :-) I have a perfect dress ready to wear that ALMOST fits me – and I know it will be great to zip it up on 4th June and look fantastic in it.The dress was bought for my by Suzaane Barnett, my good friend and business partner for my 50th birthday but I couldnt do it up and didnt want to get the next size. I just KNOW she will be crying her eyes out when she sees it on me. See this pic here taken on 9th March which was exactly 12 weeks from when I started this journey. The jeans in the pic were a snug fit when I started and look at them now!! It's unbelieveable. My sister Philomena, told me to throw them away – but I am going to keep them until I get to my ideal weight and retake the photo and see overall loss with them. THEN I will throw them out…. Hi all – I haven't updated for a week or so as I have been sooooo busy – but it's all good :) . This video was taken on 4th February 2011 – so just over 7 weeks into the programme as I started on 15th December. I can't believe I am over halfway through the 12 week programme! This is only the beginning though and this journey certainly does NOT end when 12 weeks are up. Does Crash Dieting Work?

Hi all – I have done a video below about a programme I watched last night on crash dieting. Some things I forgot to mention in the video is that those following the diets seemed quite frustrated at times, and the doctor reporting on the diets reported that some of them cause hair loss!!! I wouldn't want to experience that! One woman on the programme seemed to have quite bad skin – and it didn't look any better a few weeks in – in fact I think it seemed to look worse. How to lose weightHi all – it’s me again and my next update video on my weight loss journey.

I had a coaching call this morning with Andrew Bridgewater from ByeByeBabyBelly, and I love those calls as if I have any queries he is there to answer them. Also, this is not a weight loss programme where the WHOLE of the programme is given to you at once.

Week by week you add another “bit” to the programme so that makes it much more manageable – and sensible.

You will see from the video I did have some challenges over the festive period but that’s OK – it will all be good in the end.

How to Lose Weight – Week 3 update

Hi all – I am now into week 3 and it’s New Years Eve 2010. I survived Christmas – and had a really good time and didn’t feel “hard done by”. I did have some wine and a few chocolates but hey ….it is Christmas. I didn’t go silly and stuff myself and also we didn’t have any chocolates, biscuits or other “nibbles” indoors so that really really helped me as I know I would have “picked” if I had that stuff indoors. Got to say a BIG thanks to Steve my husband for agreeing to not having all that “stuff” at home.

I am not really a chocolate or cake person. My weakness is with things like Wine, and Crisps and Dips (savoury things) However, I am getting a hold on all this and have started getting heartburn now when I have some wine – so I really don’t think it will be long before I really DON’T want a drink of wine and that will be just AMAZING!!!!

I have not had any coffee and really don’t even think about that anymore – and it used to be my first drink of the day for many many years. I don’t even want the taste of coffee now and that happened very quickly – so my tastebuds really are changing.

Some friends have commented that I look better but I couldn’t really see it. Andrew (who is coaching me on this programme) told me to watch my week 1 video and even compared to week 2 I CAN see a difference. I can see my chin getting smaller hahaha – so that’s good.
